I've been practicing with the old one as I don't want to mess up the replacement. Is any "persuasion" required with levers? The tensioner is fully released during the fitting.

On my car (2012) the belt track is shown on the reverse side of the timimg cover ?


It's on mine too. The issue isn't the belt track, it's trying to get the belt over the pulleys when the tensioner is fully retracted. Almost like the belt is too small.
