It's an interesting exercise, this. If you buy a car from a dealer, they retain all your contact details for their purposes. Same if you book in for a service or buy something from them such as an accessory or similar.
I'd be pretty certain that the dealer will retain those details quite close to their corporate chest, and not disclose them to the factory so unless the factory have dealt with you directly, I'm not sure how they will obtain your details..?
