Since the cooling kit was brought up, I've had this thought for some time about controlling the fans.
The new GPS speed sensors have outputs that can turn on different accessories at any given speed. Not that you need another speedometer.
I'm not sure when you buy the Urban Cooling Kit for an older M3W if you get the upgraded ECM or program for just the cooling kit or not. But if you do need to control it other than just an on/off switch, but it could be an option.
Say, turn on at idle or anything less than 5 mph. You could have an override master switch that in cool weather it would never come on, but in warmer climates having the fan on below 5 mph might be a good idea.
Just thought I'd throw it out if someone needs a controller etc.
