My car does not have the cooling fan & I have never encountered skip fire. I did enquire about the fan from my dealer & can confirm what P964 said "Besides the physical install an ECU reflash is required to control when to come on etc. This flash disables the skipfire mode." My dealer offered to send the kit to me for fitting myself & they would do the enabling reflash on my next visit. I never went ahead.
