I was going to register my M3W in France but reading threads like this made me decide I could not cope with the aggro. The French invented bureaucracy and they never let you forget it. Because the M3W only has 2 cylinders, it would attract a higher registration tax rate than if it had 4 or 6 cylinders and no I don't understand it either. It would be around €1,000 to register an M3W and then insurance in France is considerably higher cost than the UK.
It has taken my local mairie a year so far to fail to decide if the required 50M brush clearance zone around the house for fire prevention is in the horizontal plane or distance measured over the ground. My house is built at the edge of a 100m high cliff, so very relevant for me.
