I went about as green as one could get for 20 years by living off the grid and generating my own power with solar and wind. Heated and cooked on wood fired stove, a Waterford Range that I really miss today, and grew my own trees for firewood. Had to buy diesel for the bulldozer and gasoline for the cars/trucks. Used rabbits and pigeons and raccoons for food when they presented themselves, as well as the cattle that were grazed on the neighboring ranch and totally grass fed.
It was a relatively quiet and peaceful life but my health was not getting better and I had to move to where healthcare was available. Hate living in town, way to noisy, and to many people that think they they know what it takes to live green and they have never even tried it.
Green is a lot hard work, and don't let someone convince you that running a car off batteries is going green, the pollution created by battery making and battery disposal is horrendous!
