Don`t think the aeropress comes near.
If it does - the price would be a sensation - and yes the handpresso comes for a hipster price>;-)
Yes, Aeropress will provide 1-3 bar, where espresso needs about 9
Putting a superfine metal filter on the aeropress does increase the pressure ... and the £180 saving will buy you several kgs of nice coffee beans - which will make as much difference as all that extra pressure
And... I use filtered water from a
Berkey filter which also helps with the flavour.
I'm not quite fussy enough to brew coffee with a dedicated water filter specifically designed for coffee, but who knows, I may get there one day
