We had a nice hike into the town from our village for a change from driving which we thought might be healthier.

During the course of our walk we saw a Sparrowhawk take a Pidgeon on the wing and promptly take it to ground and commence plucking it, totally unbothered by our presence we are fortunate to live in such surroundings.

Richard if I may ask which village do you live in close to Dartmouth, my Grandparents used to live in Galmpton, spent my summers there.

Of course Bruce it's Stoke Fleming just on the other side of the river and 2 miles from Dartmouth on the A379 coastal route to Kingsbridge which incidently is a wonderful scenic Morgan road.
We are probably around 5 miles from Galmpton as the crow flies, it's still a lovely village. Our three children went to Churston which as you know is adjacent, they had a car journey-foot passenger ferry and bus to school from Kingswear and return at the end of the day so they are all good travellers.
You spent your summers in a fine place.
