Harley engines have two varieties for the oil. one is a sump below the engine, the other is a tank that sits under the seat. There also is a wet clutch/ primary chain that has its own oil. The transmission is a third independent oil. While that is three different areas, it is, IMHO a better arrangement than my old gold wing that has engine, transmission and clutch all sharing 4 quarts of oil
