I have just booked a train to get us with the Morgan to Livorno/Italy.
From there we will drive without pre-booking and we are sure to find one nice hotel after the other.
After military service I have spent only one night in a tent, on a mountain (was great) but every other night in my traveling life was in a hotel and the nights sum up to a four digit number.
I do not understand camping. And even less I understand to go camping with an oversized bus (to be forced to stay on a camping place)
