Agreed none of the GPS systems I use are always accurate wrt speed limits. I suspect the courts though will not allow the computer said yes as a defence.
It could also be dangerous if a car decelerates incorrectly e.g. on a dual carriage way where the 50 mph limit for roadworks has been removed but the GPS is not up to date.
