I hope that he logic built into these systems is properly designed. It will be a major component in driving, the driver being an even bigger one! Having seen the often poor driving standards these days will there be a problem with switched off drivers?
I think there are already too many built in “safety” features/tech in modern cars that lull drivers into doziness mode, thinking the car will save them from their mistakes.
Another potential problem will be the interim period where cars with and without limiters share the roads. They overtake at the speed limit but fail to override it when needed. A bit like lorries driving on their limiter and ending up taking miles to overtake or tailgating.
I was taught that overtaking must be done safely, cleanly and without delay.
