Jono, your post(s) should be compulsory reading for every prospective Plus Six buyer.

I am reminded of when (at age 28) I bought my first TVR, a 3-litre Taimar. It was new from the factory, on a personal import to Switzerland where we lived at the time. My experince was somewhat different from your Plus Six, I drove it straight from Blackpool to Zurich, I used it as a daily drive for about the same length of time as you (3 years), including Alpine trips, then sold it when we left the country. The build quality, mechanicals, finish/trim were first class, it didn't leak, and the performance was superior to my current Roadster. After that I have had numerous other cars including 10 more TVRs, so it must have left quite an impression......

As to residuals (and yes of course the market is way different now), I recovered pretty much what I paid for it, including import duties etc. It was refurbed by a Swiss dealer in the 1990s, and I believe is now being used in Germany. Your Plus Six sounds like it was an "out-vestment", we are all forewarned now, thanks.
