OK at the risk of being "controversial" (aka getting lynched), if I were the MMC board I would set-up a manufactirng facility in say Detroit (other U.S. locations are available), ship over say 50 key assembly staff from Pickersleigh Road, and service the U.S. market that way
There is/was a kind of precedent for this. In its declining years, under foreign ownership, TVR manufactured their successful Chimaera in Malaysia for a while, to serve the Far Eastern market.
