With a footfall of 30,000 , it should be possible to offer a wider range of products in the shop. No doubt plenty of ideas on here.

... if investindustrial will lower the factory visit price ticket ... It's still lower than many others charge... I understood it was one of the points that was key in the sale

I was thinking about the factory tours. I might be completely wrong but I expect they are a significant part of the company profit.
I might be wrong but I think I read that the factory tours are run by volunteers who are mainly retired Morgan enthusiasts so that the tours are basically all profit.
You are, wrong that is as far as tour guides go. Most are retired, however we are part time paid employees. As for tour earnings, yes they contribute to MMC revenue. Thanks for the clarification. I initially posted as it seems some people thought the factory would be moved, but now looking at the videos from Geneva if anything Malvern is going to expand which is great. Just have to get over there sometime for a tour. I also agree that 24 pounds is very reasonable.

I still got the paper factory map from 1991 first visit.
So it took only 27 years to get one...

If the money had voted for the Morgan family, it might have been a safer investment if BMW had appeared. The BMW brand would look after and manage a great old English brand. In addition, although financially in a different league, BMW is still family-run. It would have been a more stable marriage in the medium and long term.
Are you forgetting what BMW did with Rover? And the plan they now have to move the Mini outside the UK? BMW are a fine company but they have no more interest in the UK than has Honda or Toyota.

Interesting thought. I would have thought that the land would have been vested in the business and therefore would comprise part of the assets of the company and which the new majority owner now effectively controls. Normally, the land would be in a seperately owned company so that if MMC went bust, the creditors wouldnt get the land. Plus in the MMC location the sensible thing for the family to do would be to sell the busiess operation, goodwill etc but retain the land with a view to housing development long term. Move car production into an industrial estate somewhere with a sensible layout.

There was an inevitability about this move with the need to invest (for Morgan) large amounts of money simply to keep the existing model range compliant with future legislation let alone fund electrification of at least a proportion of the production . Its going to be fascinating seeing how this works out. After all MMC has made its living , Aero apart, by making a faux old car. How can they maintain that marketing position when they have to put modern technology into the vehicle. Regenerative braking, electric power, batteries and computer control, electric steering. And what about the weight of all this? Its the Harvey Jones issue all over again. IMO they would be best served by simply maintaining their current format. Its unlikely that there will be a 100% ban on petrol engines and the electrification of all bulk manufactured cars would make the MMC niche all the more attractive

Howard, with all due friendship, my post you quote is ancient. In the meantime I have learned a lot about the positive aspects of the II participation. For me, the topic has been sufficiently discussed. I want us to see the positive sides and look forward to a promising future of MMC.

I congratulate the management of Morgan. I have been critical in the past so I am not just saying that. They have done a great job for the last few years. There does remain some risk but then there was risk before and there will be risk in the future. If they continue to make strong decisions. Launch two new cars, one very significant. Get great press coverage considering who/what else was there Help build a future with more possibility and a new partner If I was them following on from Geneva I would be like Tigger on poppers. 
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
