I have spoken again with my dealer today and I appreciate the quandry they are in. Apparently there are half a dozen or so customers from my dealer alone waiting on Morgan at the moment and all are experiencing delays and jumping up and down. Morgan are aware of the delays but are apparently snowed under due to a couple of absences in their service dept caused by bereavances - in such a small dept 2 people out plus I guess the usual summer holiday absences makes quite a dent in their ability to service customers.
Without Morgans input my dealer does not have a parts number for the hose and is prevented from ordering the new hose which is almost certainly going to be needed. I can take my car to the dealer and they can look but they feel that a new hose will certainly be warranted rather than a patch up job (which has already been done by Harpers)- and to order this they are reliant on Morgan. So catch 22 !!! They reccomend waiting a bit longer until Morgans service and spares team are running at capacity.
In the meantime I can run my car - keeping an eye on the temperature which always seems ok - and replenishing the header tank with tap water.
