Then of course for next year at Geneva 2016 they will show the new Roadster (Plus 6) and the Aero 6.
Well I had a chat with "someone who should know" and asked about a smaller engined version. The answer was "Watch this space", so my half joking suggestion may not be so far from the truth. Remember you first heard it here

Reading between the lines of what I was and wasn't told I do not think it will be a Ford engine. Apparently developing the engine package for these cars is very expensive as everything is now controlled electronically. Just slipping in the Roadster engine and gearbox with its existing wiring, ECUs etc is apparently not possible. I realised that seemingly simple things like the electronic window winders are actually pretty complex.
The time for development of a new model/engine package is apparently 2 to 3 years so, as I can't deny that the years are passing for me too, it may be a bit late for me.
Unfortunately for our friends across the pond USA homologation will not even be considered. It would be just too costly for the small number of cars that would be sold.
What the powers that be at Morgan do not seem to realise is that there are many Morgan owners and potential new buyers in countries outside the UK who are quite prepared to pay premium prices for a car like the new Aero if it was fitted with a smaller, and less powerful motor. Take for example the Maserati Ghibli diesel: 3 litre V6 in either 250 hp (for Italy) or 275 hp with 570 Nm of torque (more torque than the Aero 8) and it sounds like this:
