Don't know which car the dash is originally from. I have researched the topic and thought I had cracked it when I located the pdf for what looked exactly like the GDI speedometer. unfortunately the stated process, and I have tried variations, of holding down the speedometer button, turning on the ignition, starting the car and waiting for 3 seconds simply stops all the dash instruments from doing anything. What should happen is a series of modes appear, AutoCL, PuLSE, and Adjust, which you then scroll through and using the PuLSE mode will allow the value to be corrected by entering in the correct numerical value. Let go of the button and wait a few seconds and the job is done.
As pressing the button does affect the instruments I know I am getting closer but as its all the instruments either I am doing something wrong, there is another control unit in the dash that I know nothing about or its controlled through the ECU. A mystery that will hopefully be solved soon.
