He may not have been the CEO, but I think he still wielded tremendous influence on management decisions. Quite handy really, because he can just walk away from the bad decisions and take the credit for good ones.


Of course it can always work exactly the opposite way. It's very easy, and almost traditional, that the new powers take credit for all that is good and blames all wrongs on the "fallen" one.

Not saying that this has happened, never read anything "on the record" from the February 2013 onwards management about Charles Morgans' decisions. And I don't have personal access to the "off the record" stuff that sometimes transpires, so I can't tell rumour from fact.
