I don't quite agree with you re the other manufacturers and how they deal with issues
There is a well known BMW diesel engine that is know to fail and have been avoiding dealing with it properly as I understand it.
Land Rover had many problems with its Freelander rear axle in various guises and believe they still are and are still not admitting there is or were any problems. (Why we ditched ours before the 3 year warranty expired) We will never have another LR, having had 5 in the past.
Fiat is another example of manufacturer who has and still is having issues with cars and not necessarily dealing with them.
I could go on but won't. I am sure there are many other examples out their. Once again I am not condoning this by manufacturers just stating it is how I see it is.
