Hi, been away for a few days. just seen all the inputs. On the photo of the pump unit from DaveW you can clearly see the red clip on the sender head return line input. The "Supply" line has the same but its a white clip. The plastic hose clips are incredibly flimsy and appear to have a "few" O rings. As mine was only "partially out" we could see at least two- one of which had split. Also a piece of the red plastic fitting (like a bayonet leg) had also broken off. The AA man just eased it back into the unit receptacle and then Tie wrapped in to secure to the fuel unit header. As I said it didn't leak. That said this is a classic case of a "halfpenny of tar sinking the ship". or for "the want of a nail" etc etc.In terms of production costs I bet these clip would be circa 1p each and yet an expensive motor is rendered useless when it fails. Because of where its located the clip failure could only be fatigue caused by vibration. It appears they cannot be acquired as a separate part or fitted without some special tool. Thank god for "Williams" who are going to sort it when it goes in next month.
