Change will only occur if the active members today buy into it. I spent much of my latter working life 'helping' organisations change and one thing is certain that with change brings risks. One of which is that those comfortable and active in the as is organisation will leave if they do not agree to the changes and that could lead to a worse situation than exists today. Clear statements of what the vision for the club will be encompassing both tangible and intangible benefits to members. Without the vision a transformation cannot be planned and measurable activities identified. Part of the vision generation has to be identifying what is good, not so good and so what. If change happens too quickly an implosion will occur.
