Neil, I think the issues go far deeper than the look and feel of Miscellany. A re-design may well help but it would be rather like putting a go faster stripe on your xr2 when in fact the engine has a problem.
Doesn't it just show how little is offed from the club when a good proportion of the discussion revolves around their magazine?

Attitudes and the clubs 'culture' need to change to make it more appealing, in its current state it simply doesn't offer enough to attract people. All well and good people saying it's not what we get out of it but what we bring to it that's important, but often all that many of us can bring is our membership loyalty.

With these fundamental changes in place, even Miscellany in its current format may be looked upon as quaint and acceptable.
