I bought a personalised plate for my tin top 20+ years ago, it is my three initials plus the number 3, I paid £2250 for it.
Around six years ago I had to get it valued because I was getting divorced and the ex's solicitor was trying to squeeze every penny out of me. Probably the best known registration plate company offered me £700 (that was good for me at that time), they had the same three initials plus the number 9 for sale at that time for £9000.
They wrote to me numerous times offering to buy it!
Similar with N22 MOG, I'd bought it 8 years ago for £275 and they offered me £90 2 years later.
Neither were bought as an investment and I don't intend to sell them but I was surprised at the mark up the traders seem to work on.
