With foreign drivers they get fined at the roadside, if they don't pay the truck is clamped.
I didn't realise this was possible. Which statute is this done under please?
Can't check any statutes at the moment as on 2 weeks A/L. But Traffic officers now have the power to issue on the spot fines for minor offences and can take deposits against more serious offences or where a driver elects to go to court. Up to £500. Only used where driver does not have UK address or cannot provide an address suitable for service of summons.
