He think the very small variation in speed which you get from the normal cardan coupling could make the noise between the teeth inside the bevelbox.

I Googled " Rzeppa" and there could be a truth in his idea.


The angle, or lack of angle, is almost a straight line from tranny to BB. U-joints are timed on the drive shaft to cancel out the accel/decel on every revolution. My opinion would be this is probably not the cause.
