Such a shame...
If I didn't own it already I wouldn't buy my Morgan. It has been in the shop for 2 months waiting for new exhausts to be built. I just found out today that they will be built in November. Maybe I will get it back in November. That would be a 4 month repair.
The last time it was in the shop for an engine rebuild and new exhausts it was also a multiple month repair.
My history with it (a 2014 Brooklands) is
5000 miles - first mufflers crack, but I was on a cross country trip so I kept going
7500 miles - timing pinion strips, engine needs rebuild, both exhausts are broken, rear sprocket is wearing so I replace it with a steel one. (I thought this might be a warranty repair but nope, cost me close to $1000.)
9200 miles - exhausts break again (both at the same time, it is amazing how they always break at the same time)
I am now getting the extra mounts for the mufflers. Maybe they will fix the muffler problem, maybe not. I plan to get my old mufflers repaired so I can have a spare set just in case. I have my fingers crossed that the new timing pinion in the engine won't strip. I had thought S&S engines were reliable so hopefully the rebuild fixed it.
I bought it to drive it. If I am afraid it will break every few thousand miles it isn't any use to me.
