Yes the engine seems almost the best thing other than the cam gear problem, by far and away it's the transmission of the power and exhaust issues which as far as I read are still very "live" issues after several years of production.

I don't believe this would have happened on Peter Morgan's watch he was a man of great integrity.


Yes the engine is great and it defines the cars character. But if the car had happened with Peter Morgan at the helm....he would have undoubtedly opted for a smaller engine. The peak torque pulses (in region of 1150 ft/lbs I believe) are too great for the transmission's longevity.


Someone must have known this early on in the concept stage surely John.
I think a smaller engine would have been a better answer there is no way I would travel in an M3W at 100mph anywhere so surely a 600cc V would have been more than adequate.
