Since the costs of running a bricks and mortar bank are much greater than running an internet bank, I'd be quite happy with that. I'm not sure all the fans of Face to Face banking would be happy to shoulder their share of the costs, though.

There is definitely a problem at the moment for some older people who aren't computer literate, but it's not going to last long. Anybody who is currently under the age of 70 can reasonably be expected to be at least a bit tech savvy. After all, cash machines have been around for half a century, Home computers have been widely available for nearly 40 years and the World Wide Web for over 25.

And even if one isn't very knowledgable, one can always learn. Life-long learning and the acquisition of new skills is one of the best defences we have against developing dementia in later life, so it really is good for you, too!
