?? You must have a different fitting arrangement. Just recently removed my rear wheel, and was easy to do with the hydraulic brake line attached. Because of the way (angle) the line was fastened, I did loosen the right angle fitting and rotate it about 90 degrees before re-tightenting in order to ensure enough slack to slide the wheel/hub off the swing arm. I did later remove the brake line to separate the backing plate for a good cleaning and service, but in looking at my machine, I can't imagine how it would be required to remove the line. But then I have an early car, so there may be differences.
