The BLM movement is directly focused on things that are actually and really happening in their lifetime. As others said earlier, don't let the barking dogs make you think otherwise.

There are plenty of other organisations and movements dedicated fighting for the opressed as you mention. I imagine many of the demonstrators are actively involved in those campaigns as well. It is easy to get involved in many of them (referenced a couple below)
