The chain drive conversion would certainly be a proven way of reducing the belt noises . It has some things going for it but a few drawbacks as well.
Nice. I have had the pleasure of driving Phils chain drive converted car for an extended time on the motorway - it was a revelation in silence and smoothness ( S&S ) , the opposite of NVH
