Thanks for admitting me to the forum! I bought a 2016 M3W(with 10k km) this winter and have been preparing it for summer over Easter - I'm really looking forward to summer days with the car.
After having put the car into the garage I have smelled a hint of gas and decided to take out the seats to inspect the tank. See attached what met me. As a lot of you have experiences both sides have cracked in the mounting brackets, however, it looks like it is so severe that there is a fuel leak at the right tank. Based on the accumulated dirt it seems like the problem has been there for a while
The woodboard below the tank is still dry, so its not dripping fuel from the tank but the area around the bracket is soaked. Can it really be true that it is leaking through some of the welds for the mounting brackets?
Do anyone know if there is currently a long delivery time for replacement tanks from Morgan, or is the only solution here to have the tanks welded? I guess there is still no long term solution from Morgan on this problem?
