I have no interest in being a snail and carrying my home around on my back. That you are well practised in the the "art" I would have nothing to add other than it seems the roads will perhaps be crammed in all the formerly quiet places to the extent there are no quiet places as the result of so many baby boomers thinking about buying a campervan, and even more so now as the result of Covid and whatever the new normal evolves to become...? I live just a field away from the outer edge of suburbia of a large city and there were a ever a few who walked their dogs up on to the hills, since the arrival of Covid restrictions, they are now arguing over parking spaces ....!

I had the good fortune to drive the Western section of the NC 500 in my Morgan enjoying the wonderful isolation...before it was ever named as such, single track roads with passing places.... apparently it can be mayhem up there now with camper vans and folk who have no idea how to make use of single track roads, parking up in passing places and the amount of traffic is such that...well you can imagine..? All sounds like not a lot of fun to me...?

Perhaps Red3, K and Gordon D, could provide an update as it is many years since I was up North..

A couple of web sites that might be of interest from a Photographer who has bought a van then moved on to another..

Good luck with your planning, and I hope it all works out as you would wish..
