I can't believe the amount of hype that is now being given to electric cars, given the following:-

1) Range limited by battery capacity and driving conditions
2) Range anxiety for the driver brought about by fear of running out before reaching the next available charging point.
3) If you have to rely on parking in the street and possibly not always outside your own house, how to you do at-home charging?
4) If you live in a block of flats the same applies as in 3 above.
5) Time to take on adaquate recharge is excessive
6) The existing underground cabling is not capable of handling the increased demand created by mass electric car charging.
7) The environmental issues around the disposal of batteries at the end on their life and the cost of replacements
8)The carbon footprint produced when building an electric car is apparently greater than when building an IC engined car.

In view of the above, I agree with John V6 that hydrogen is the only way to go and this should have the most time and money spent on it now rather than waisting time going down the electric route
