For anyone with a sub-50 mile daily commute I can't see range being a big issue even in winter for most EVs apart from the very small city cars like the Smarts, Hondas, and E-ups."
But this depends on ice cars being available when needed. If they are banned we will all be forced to take hours longer to do any sizeable journey.
We stopped at a motorway services on m5 recently. Big car park. Hundreds of cars. We parked next to the charger bays. There were four. They were all occupied.
In the twenty minutes I sat there (while wife went and bought a sandwich and coffee which we had in the ccar) at least 6 elec cars rolled up, looked sadly at the bays and went and parked. They sat watching the bays. You could be there hours, let alone the aggro of trying to get to a vacating bay before the others who have the same aim.
It's hopeless.
