There are several factors that will effect the payback of any investment in the start up of a trad production line. Euro7 comes into effect from 2030 for car manufacturers of less than 10k cars a year and the current UK ban on the sale of diesel and petrol cars from 2030.

If the UK remains the dominate market for trads and some foreign markets like the USA require ABS etc and may therefore become standard fit, there's not much opportunity to make a reasonable return on the setup cost that would be involved.

For me a slightly strengthened trad chassis with double wishbone front suspension and 5 link rear suspension, with say Ford mechanicals would be an ideal solution. Keep it simple.
