It seems to me that one of the results of the move upmarket is that the second hand prices of the CX are effectively much lower, as a percentage of the list price, than the trads were.
Probably second hand prices of all Morgans are falling faster than they once did.
Certainly a new Plus Four would be out of the question for me today but then my income has changed little in the 12 years since I bought our car whereas the average income has increased by about 50%. Taking that into consideration perhaps a reasonably spec PlusFour at about £80K is not so ridiculous.
I still think the PlusSix is just bonkers and way overpowered for this type of vehicle. The number that have come to a sad end would seem to add some validity to my opinion.
As I said before I would love to have a lower powered version with a few bells and whistles, 180 to 200 hp turbo, with ABS, traction control, auto box and paddle shift, a nice audio system and aircon, and all that more modern suspension system. Perhaps I can get our local body shop to fit the Morgan coachwork to an MX5
