Interesting that the Aeros are more powerful than the Plus Six, its all those V8 cubes.... From reading a few reports when the vehicle was first available the number of Plus Six accidents may be down to the Plus Six autobox undertaking a unexpected downshift when the vehicle is cornering.. From my distant memory I believe this was quietly sorted by the factory a few years ago with software updates to the box?? Although you still need to respect the fact that its the BHP going through the rear drive..
There were a reasonable number of Aero 8 S1s that were crashed for similar reasons (although all were manual) and quite a few were written off, more than one close to the factory after the owner(s) collected them, and at least one was rebuilt and put back on the road.
I wonder how much of it stems from modern cars allowing drivers to take all manner of liberties and the systems in modern cars almost 'bending physics' to keep the driver out of trouble. Obviously the Plus Six doesn't have such systems and the Aero 8 certainly didn't!
