There were a reasonable number of Aero 8 S1s that were crashed for similar reasons (although all were manual) and quite a few were written off, more than one close to the factory after the owner(s) collected them, and at least one was rebuilt and put back on the road.

I wonder how much of it stems from modern cars allowing drivers to take all manner of liberties and the systems in modern cars almost 'bending physics' to keep the driver out of trouble. Obviously the Plus Six doesn't have such systems and the Aero 8 certainly didn't!
