John, no problem if it mills out ok... sospan.. I did think about 3D printing, but the printer plastic would need to be high end and it might be a bit fiddly for a printer. I have used two different design 3D printed sun shades for our Garmin Nav in the Plus Six this and last summer in France, in both cases when the temperature was North of 40 deg C in direct sun the shades went floppy losing all shape, the standard printer plastic used was not good enough to keep structure rigidity at 40 + deg C.
The failure of the Morgan clip on my drivers door inner handle was most likely made worse by the very high temps, as it has distorted. In theory the Delrin should handle heat into the 40's ok... if it turns out it doesn't then the ultimate fix is a redesign of the clip and use aluminium or maybe brass.
I would love a 3D printer.. but I would never get it past " she who must be obeyed", I am already fighting rear guard action to keep my motorcycles
