I am struggling with the notion that a suspension travel alters the tension in the belt, can someone explain this more thoroughly?
Attached in the picture, i can see the bevel box sprocket and the axis of rotation of the rear swing arm are in-line on the same axis?
Or am i missing something?
No Charles, not missing anything. There's no tension change with suspension movement as the swing arm pivot and the front sprocket are on the same axis. Most bikes have them on separate axes so the tension varies with travel and they have to run their chains apparently quite slack to avoid over tension at the extremes of rear wheel travel. Some also have adjustment for the swing arm pivot position to exploit the change in geometry which can alter how the power is put down on corner exits.
