Galvanising is done hot and distorts the chassis.
This coating is done cold so the chassis remains more accurate so makes a better race car .That's the official line from the AR top bod.`
Yup, but for a slightly different reason I believe. The bulkhead/firewall is now superform aluminium. Accurate to within very tight tolerances, which a galvanised chassis (misaligned by the hot dip galvanising process) would not fit...
