Stewart I hate to 'dampen' your hopes, pardon the pun but you may well find as the house starts to dry out issues become apparent. The floor may still start to lift over the next few days, the skirting boards, doors and architraves will be affected and the plaster will have taken up the water and be affected. From our experience, the plaster would have to be removed above the water line and driers installed in the property until they can issue a certificate to confirm the property has the moisture removed before reinstating it. You will need to be firm with your loss adjuster and unfortunately at times like this most people find they have to go into battle with the insurance company whose objective is to minimise the payout.
