UPDATE. All attempts to acquire new Sender connector seals and locking collars failed. Ford Solution £392 for a new sender. Ebay for a used sender £19 See jpg 1028. Seals and collars needed. All white assembly scrapped. Loading clip and seals is fiddly to ensure alignment.(see jpg 1033) Seals well greased.Slide in and then with locking collar flat side down next to base plate push in firmly until click Insert fuel line connector an ease into red connector collar (You have to get through the seals)until clicks See jpeg 1039. No gap between collar face and pipe face. Engine fired up- no leaks. For now anyway. I now have an emergency kit (See jpeg1061)Contains Spanner to remove spare wheel bracket and cover plate, tie wraps to bodge a repair (ie to hold pipe in if it pops again. Spare locking collars for longer term repair. Cause of problem- No idea pipes not tight or out of alignment. However it occurs to me if the return pipe in jpeg 1028 is kinked it may cause big back pressure. Not checked! Advice needed from TM members. 1. To remove sender I have to remove large black plastic ring and withdraw. Ash cross member is in way! Can this be removed easily? 2. See jpeg1059. Two components in fuel line. What are they 3.See jpeg1057 next post I have exceeded attachment limit. What is component?
Finally, I have located a Mondeo after market pump supplier that has same clips seals in Czechoslovakia. Waiting response. It would be nice to fit new collars/seals. Hope all the above helps others to avoid £400 bill. [color:#FF0000][/color]
