For anyone considering an extended trip, the motor insurance element threw up conflicting advice. One offer was for a maximum cover period of 60 days. Another source didn't have the time restriction but seemed to be designed for driving between organised motoring events. In both cases the maximum third party cover offered was only $100K.
We did look at maybe buying a Morgan over in the USA and then selling it when we left. The exchange rate plummet affected that calculation.
