About the same time I test drove a Z4 3.0, found it less dull mainly because it wasn't as competent but also found that it felt like a larger, softer car but with out the practicality of four seats and a large boot so of no interest to me.
A Z4 with four seats ?

The point made is that the Z4 drives like a 'big' car but without the compensating benefits of 4 seats/large boot etc.
I get that - one of the reasons I admire the new MX5 is that Mazda have been brave enough to engineer more 'smallness' into the way it feels to drive.
