Is it because they are hand built? Or is it inherent mechanical design and development? My money is completely on the latter and I can list a lot of examples to support it.

Obviously Morgan don't have the budget of an OEM. Customers are willing to put up with a lot due to brand, heritage and uniqueness, but certainly there is an expectation of 'reasonable' reliability which is still a given.
