Here in The States any attempt to use that stock rear facing fog light would just result in a fine. So I have the Aussie Backup lamp in its proper position in the bodywork. I have to say that due to the beam pattern and the tapering body of the car, it doesn't exactly make it brilliantly bright back there.
I have been using the rear fog as a running light during the day with no issues. Have had police cars directly behind be with no comment.
