I recently updated my pinion (aka crank) pulley using S&S ‘Timing Belt Pulley Repair Kit’ (PN 370-0015).

As well as the new pinion pulley, this kit also includes three replacement nuts for the cam pulleys. The new nuts have a smooth underside and are designed to be held in place using copious amounts of Loctite 243 as opposed to the original serrated style.


I can only assume that S&S have encountered the serrated nuts coming loose over time so it may be worth fitting the later style nuts if you are doing any other work in the timing belt area.
p.s. Thanks very much to KBMOG for the loan of the ‘special tool’ required to hold the pulleys in position while removing & replacing the nuts. It worked a treat! cheers
