All of us are aware by now, of certain cheepskate components of the classic models that sooner or later fail. A recent post bemoans a steering rack gaiter failure at only 3 years, (my one failed after 8 years).
"Free Extras" with the +4 110 anniversary model is a marketing gimmick, no more than that.
If those freebies simply included the fitting of good quality rack gaiters, sliding pillar gaiters, neoprene tubing wiper-wash tubes, quality shocks, alloy radiator, then the longevity and reliability would be immediately improved. Each of those items had to be replaced on my 2008 4/4.
These are essential components that would not cost the MMC too much to upgrade.
They only involve substitution and a small cost adjustment.
Call it the "Fully Sorted 110" if you like.
Forget branded wash bags, bicycles, umbrellas, tea shirts, flying jackets, watches, etc.
